Owning a creative business - at age 59 - has its share of challenges! Mainly the tech sort for me! Who would have thought that as a creative gift shop and art studio owner in CT ... my main job would be sitting on the computer, figuring out how to avoid ai, to do seo (does it exist anymore) how to get on the tik tocks, how to avoid having a pony ride or a fire breather at a class....and all the other hats! I just want to make art and decorate my store windows and make coffee

It looks as if the snow is behind us, the birds are singing and I see some green leaves poking through the soil! I have been spending far too much time on the computer again, that old love/hate relationship with social media. It is a weird time and logging on to Instagram to post a class or photos, then leads me down a rabbit hole. I am not a rabbit. I then hop over to "threads" and get wound up in a lot of weird stuff people post. Then one thing leads to another, and hours

It's cold out! Come and make art here with us! My friend asked me "what do you want?" when I was lamenting to her about business ownership and how our "store" is also a studio and we tried selling coffee for a year and I was unsure of what direction or thing to focus on - thanks ADHD.

Greetings and Happy New Year! I decided to start a blog to replace the social media stuff... for now. Call it an experiment! I looked back at how much time, energy, money, and emotion I had poured into the social media aspect of this business... and the return on that investment did not materialize. In fact, it did the opposite. I felt drained, sad, tired, angry, jealous, and overwhelmed trying to keep up. Social media never existed in my younger days, and we got along just
