Six Weeks. This is an instructional class. Class meets 2.5 hours per week for a 6-week session. Great for beginners and people who have some pottery experience! Includes - Clay, glazing and firing for up to 6 finished pieces up to 6in in length* Pottery tools and reclaim bucket can be purchased in the studio for $20.00 Any towels or Apron you bring will need to be taken home and laundered between classes. Students will learn to make small to medium vessels from 1-3 lbs each. Focus will be on quality vs quantity and class will incorporate surface treatment, glazing methods, attachments and more. Class includes 12.5 lbs of clay/ bisque and glaze firings for initial pots as mentioned above and use of all studio glazes. If any pots are fired beyond the initial 6 they will incur a fee. Fees are posted in studio. An orientation and class description will be discussed on the first night. You must attend the first night to continue. There are no make ups for missed classes. This is an educational class where the focus is on learning and development of wheel throwing skills and techniques. This is NOT an open studio environment, and participants are expected to follow along with the class syllabus. The focus is on building skills each week, increasing difficulty and technical skill, surface treatments and texture, handles and attachments and finishing and smoothing, working toward independent projects which will be offered in different class or open studio environment.
